“Pediatric doctors begin taking steps to control the spread of measles”
By Patty Santos
“Pediatricians like Alicia Tezle with Little Spurs Pediatrics Urgent Care say their offices have started taking steps to ensure that they don’t spread the measles in their offices.
“If a patient is infected with measles and they leave the room or the waiting room, the room is infectious for two hours after that person left,” Tezle said. “So if you go in with your baby, that’s six months, seven months, and they’ve never been vaccinated for measles because you don’t get vaccinated until 12 to 15 months, then your baby can be infected with measles.””

The state is asking anyone who was in contact with the three infected patients to contact a health provider to get checked out. Someone in contact with the first person could develop symptoms as late as March 6, the state said

“Measles, ACIP, flu campaign, bird flu, and telehealth ending”
By Katelyn Jetelina
“How bad is this going to get? No one knows. But, as a fantastic epidemiologist pointed out, an increase of 32 cases in three days means the “force of infection” is strong. In other words, this is spreading exponentially, leading to more cases.”
“An outbreak in New Jersey (3 cases) is also being closely monitored, particularly because hospital exposure could accelerate the spread.”
